Fairfield Pack 8853 welcomes children of all genders from age 5 (as of September 30th) through age 10 (TK/K to 5th grade) and they are organized into Cub Scout Dens by age/grade. For details on den placement, visit the Advancement Trail.
Join us any time throughout the year; Scouting is a year-round program. While families are working on advancement goals all year, Den ranks are rotated up every June.
Cub Scouting is family-centric where the adult member and Cub work together, bonding and building memories around the shared values of Cub Scouting: to do your best in community, service, outdoorsmanship and adventuring.

Cub ranks Lion and Tiger (TK-1st grade) require an adult family member to be present at all times. Cub ranks Wolf thru AOL (2nd-5th grade) will have occasional drop-off activities as they get older, however, adult/family involvement is an integral part of the Cub experience. Adults should expect to participate with their Cubs throughout Cub Scouting.
Adult membership is optional, however, we ask that each family have 1 registered adult per family and that each family volunteer an average of 1 hour per month in any capacity outside of regular meeting attendance. The Pack's ability to offer quality programs year-round depends 100% on family-volunteers.
