Here are some of the activities that Cub Scouts at Pack 8853 participate in:
semi-weekly to weekly Den meetings (rank-specific)
monthly Pack meetings (all ranks together)
Field trips (Police dept, Fire dept, Forensics dept, U-pick farms, animal rescues, USS Pampanito, USS Hornet, Chabot Space and Science Center, Rowland Aviation Museum, California State Railway Museum)
Special Cub Scout Pack events include: Pinewood Derby, Raingutter Regatta, Rocket Derby, Bear Carnival, Blue & Gold Celebration, Family Camping
Community service: Adopt-a-park, 4th of July and Veteran's day parades, Veteran's Memorial services, coastal creek cleanup, Christmas tree recycling, Scouting for Food can food drive, Ball Metal Car show for schools, Senior Center visits

Hiking and Cycling: throughout the Bay Area
Shooting Sports: Cubs develop skills in BB Guns, Archery and Wrist Rockets (slingshots)
Fishing: basic fishing skills to fly fishing
Aquatics: swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, sailing and canoeing
Emergency Preparedness: basic first aid, family and group emergency plans, 911 protocols
